June is the month for celebrating graduations and this family is celebrating two! Brooklyn graduated from high school and her sister, Karline, graduated from University two days later. It was a beautiful evening at Christian Life Assembly where classmates from Brooklyn’s school crossed the stage to receive their diplomas. Family and friends gathered on the lawn outside for photos as the sun was setting. Congratulations Brooklyn on your outstanding achievement and best wishes for a bright future!
It was an honour to be one of the official photographers for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s 2013 Miracle Weekend Telethon. BC Children’s Hospital is critical for the wellness of children all over the province but they need our help to deliver the care and services that children need. Working with the Foundation staff and countless other volunteers was a wonderful experience. So many people working together for a common goal. The GlobalTV news anchors and staff did an amazing job. It was very interesting to be in the studio and see the behind the scenes operations. Most who participated had loved and lost Lindsey Lourenco this past March. It was my privilege to work alongside Lindsey’s family, who were there all day, continuing her work.

It was a pleasure to meet Tzetzi and her family last week at her UBC graduation. Tzetzi’s family and friends were there to cheer her on as she received her degree at the Chan Centre at the University of British Columbia. There had been downpours of rain that day but nothing could dampen the excitement and celebration of the day. The graduates and their families visited and took pictures in the Rose Garden, not bothered at all by the rain coming down. After all, this is Vancouver! Tzetzi, congratulations of your achievement. May you have much happiness and success in all you do.
Is there anything sweeter than spending the afternoon with a fresh, new, little baby girl? Only eight days old, little Emily was a superstar for her newborn session. She has such a sweet disposition and even spent some awake-time looking around at us, content as could be. Big brother and dad played outside, leaving the girly stuff to mom and me. What fun we had dressing Emily up in lacy, ruffly, feathery things! What a blessing you are to your family, sweet Emily.
BC Children’s Hospital is my charity of choice and I am honoured to be one of their photographers. There are many fundraising events going on around the Metro Vancouver area in preparation for next week’s Miracle Weekend Telethon. Friday was a beautiful day at Mayfair Lakes Golf and Country Club for the annual Golf for Kids Tournament. Participants enjoyed a relaxing and scenic day of golf while raising much-needed funds for BCCH. Watch the telethon on GlobalTV on June 1st and 2nd and make your donation. I’ll be there and am looking forward to hearing those phones ring!
