Every time I meet one of these fresh-from-heaven babies, I am in awe. They are, truly, miracles! It is such a privilege to be able to capture images of babies in their first week or two as they change so quickly at this age. Blessings to you, Baby S, and your beautiful family!
For the past couple of years, I have been invited to photograph the graduates of the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts. Occurring quarterly, the graduation photo shoots have had a fun and celebratory feel to them, as the students and chef instructors share a camaraderie and genuine fondness for each other. Recently, I created headshots for the chef instructors for PICA’s website and other promotional material. PICA offers professional culinary training and also casual cooking classes. I am very tempted to participate!
BC Children’s Hospital is close to my heart and my charity of choice. I often photograph events hosted by BCCHF and was recently asked by the Foundation to photograph a family who had benefited from its services. Jireh was only 7 months old went he had plastic surgery to remove a tumour on his face that was threatening blindness. Today, at 4 years old, Jireh’s tumour is gone and the surgery is undetectable. I had the joy of photographing Jireh and his twin brother playing on the playground and managed to pose these two active pre-schoolers for a few moments on my little red wagon. Shown are excerpts of BCCHF’s spring edition of their Speaking of Children magazine (the image on page 8 and the inset image on page 9 are not mine). I wish many continued blessings for you and your wonderful family, Jireh!
On a beautiful Autumn evening, we met Alysha and Stryder on top of Burnaby Mountain outside of Horizon’s Restaurant for their Engagement Session. This location has sentimental value for Alysha and Stryder, with its rose gardens, Japanese carved poles and beautiful mountain views, it was the perfect setting. The forecast was rain but the weather was in our favour and we had a lovely time preserving this wonderful time in their lives. I can’t wait to photograph their July wedding! Special thanks to Shawn for assisting.
I really enjoy delving into a special project, whether it’s for a client or it’s a personal project. Here is a seasonal project that my boys and I enjoyed working on with our own pets. The image with the gerbils was chosen by Global News‘ Kristi Gordon for yesterday’s Weather Window. It took a little coaxing to get the gerbils to appear once they were inside the pumpkin as they were surrounded by a large food source!
